Dogs Available for Adoption in South Florida
All these animals have either been abandoned or abused/neglected or surrendered. They have all been rescued, which means they have at been in at least one home. When considering adoption, please make sure you are ready to give a loving and forever home to him or her. That includes considering them if you are moving home. If you are planning on moving home, ensure that you are permitted to have pets in your new home BEFORE signing a contract. If you are planning a vacation and cannot take your pet with you, please be sure to have someone available to temporarily take care of it. These animals are NOT disposable, they have feelings and also grieve when they lose you, therefore it is of the utmost importance that you consider this before adopting a pet. Most of these wonderful animals end up on 'death row' when surrendered to the pound, or remain homeless for months and even years and may never find another home. PLEASE take adoption seriously!

We do not ship animals. If you cannot travel to meet the dog you will not be able to adopt it. If you are interested in homing one of them or would like more information about a dog please e-mail Dogs are adopted every day so some of the dogs on this page may have been rehomed by the time you read this.

Rocco Needs a Home - Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
This dog was found on a street in Sunrise, FL, in June 2014. The local shelters have been notified but no one has claimed him. Click on his picture to see more photo's. Rocco is a really good boy, house trained, good with other dogs, cats and kids. He walks fine on a leash and sits calm in the backseat for car rides. He is medium to high energy because of his age (around 1 year old) and loves to play catch and run around outside. His temperament is fine, I have never heard him growl at anything or act aggressively. I tested him by taking his food away, taking his toys, and he did not react. When I have to discipline him for anything he just cowers down and goes to his bed if I point to it. Wherever he came from he had pretty good home training. He is scheduled to be neutered on July 14th.

I would love to keep Rocco but my husband is allergic to dogs. I do not want to surrender him because the shelters are high kill. That is why I want to find him a new home. For more information about Rocco please e-mail Area: Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Click here to see more photo's of Rocco.
